The report was issued on February 14, 1992 and was created because the City of Peabody would no longer subsidize the Hospital due to financial constraints. This has gotten the Board to consider what options are available. The report outlines the current issues and status of the hospital. This report would be issues one year before the hospital was transfer or sold to Kindred Healthcare Inc.

Because the Peabody Institute Library was a separate institution from the City of Peabody the Library was required to publish an annual report. The report, usually, included the names of the Trustees; names and titles of library staff; a letter from the Library Director; statistics from the previous year; donations; correspondence (rarely) and the operating budget of the Library. This report is the 21st annual report for the year 1873.
